"A Designer Repairs"

Since the publication of Constantin Stanislavski's definitive study of the actor's inner process in preparation for the stage, "An Actor Prepares," countless drama enthusiasts have lampooned the title with the variation "An Actor Repairs."


However satirical, the assertion is valid, not only in drama, but in all art and creativity: much of the work consists not so much in the preparation, but in the modifications, the alterations and corrections.
